Maxima Blazhennogo - (Church of St Maxim the Blessed) (Svyatini page 42). The church is at the Kremlin end of Varvarka street next to the Church of Varvarka (St Barbara) It was built in 1689-99, the third church on the site. The first there was a wooden church from 1434 dedicated to Sts Boris and Gleb. A stone church was built in 1568 with the name of Maxim. |
