Tserkov' Uspeniya Presvyatoi Bogoroditsi,
chto v Pechatnikakh (Assumption of the Virgin, that is in Pechatnik) is on
corner of Bolshaya Lubyanka and Sretinka street (number 3) between the Lubyanka
prison and the Sretinski monastery. It was begun in 1695 and altered in 1763.
At one time it was called 'za Sretinskimi vrati v Pechatnikovye. Inside there
are chapels dedicated to Nikoli Chudotvortsi (St Nicholas the wonderworker) and
Rozhdestva Ioan Predmechi (Birth of John the Baptist). The name, pechatnkiakh,
comes from the time when the printing industry was started in Moscow (at the
Lord's Printing court) and a quarter was established here for the print shop
workers who were called pechatniki. But no actual printing plant was located
