Sretenski Monastery (Receptional Men's monastery) on Bolshaya Lubyanka Street where it passed through the Beligorod wall. (Svyatini page 51). The monastery is named 'reception' after the great event of August 26th 1395 when on this spot the Muscovite population welcomed the arrival of the Icon of the Blessed Virgin of Vladimir which was brought to ward off the invasion of Tamerlane. Tamerlane then turned back well south of the city. The local street was then named "Vstretinskaya" and then Sretiniya. There was a yearly celebration on 26 August at this location. The monastery was destroyed but one church remains.
