Nikolayevskii Greek monastery (St Nicholas Greek Monastery on Nikolskaya street in Kitai Gorod was mentioned from 1390. The stone cathedral was built during the reign of Peter I. The Nikolai towers of the Kremlin and Kitai gorod were also named for this monastery. It was destroyed in 1933. (Svyatini page 30) The building with classical columns in the facade in the background is the Bolshoi Theater.
