RUSSIAN CHURCHES

Tserkov Pokrova Bozh'yei Materi chto na Varvarke, chto na Pskovskoi gore (Church of the Virgin's veil on Varvarka street that was on the Pskov hill) Svyatini page 34. This church was built in 1657 to replace another of the same name from 1462 or earlier. The bell tower and refectory were rebuilt in 1818. The main altar is dedicated to The Virgin's protecting veil, and a chapel is to Petr the Metropolitan.
