ALEKSANDR ANDRYEYEVICH (14th cent)

He was a son of Andrei Vsyevolodovich Shutikha, appanage prince of Meshchevsk, and Yvpraksia. He became appanage prince of Baryatinsk. His sons were Gregorii, Dmitrii, Fedor, and Lev (or Ivan) princes of Baryatinsk. They are shown on this family chart.
The Baryatinski udel was located on the banks of the Kletomi River in the Kaluga region. It was divided out of the Meshchevski udel in the second half of the 14th century as the domain of Aleksandr Andryeyevich. It is not clearly understood under what circumstances his heirs lost their governing rights as udel princes. But eventually the region was taken by Lithuania and the princes fled to Moscow to enter as service princes.
