He was the second son of Konstantin Yur'yevich, appanage prince Obolenski. He also was appanage prince Obolenski. His sons were Ivan Dolgorukii; Vasilii Shcherbatii, prince Obolenski; Aleksandr, appanage prince Trostenski; and Konstantin, prince Obolenski. They are shown in this family chart.
