He was the son of Tit Mstislavich, appanage prince of Karachev. He married about in 1377 with Feodora, daughter of Ol'gerd grand prince of Lithuania. their son was Yuri, prince of Massal'; Mstislav, prince of Karachev; and Fedor, crown prince or prince of Karachev.
