He was a son of Andrei Vladimirovich DolgoRuki, appanage prince of Vyazma and a daughter of Mstislav III Romanovich Starii, grand prince of Kyiv. His sons were Afanasii, appanage prince of Vyazma; Roman, and Yuri, princes or crown princes of Vyasma. The family is shown on this chart.
