VASIL'KO ROMANOVICH ( 1203 - 1269)

 
   
 

He was a son of Roman Mstislavich, prince of Galich. He became prince of Vladimir-in-Volynia with his brother, Daniil in 1205, when their father died in battle in Poland. His mother managed to hold things together by fleeing to Poland, although they did loose some regions in Galich. He was prince of Brest in 1209, prince of Bel'sk in 1209 - 1212, prince of Vladimir-in-Volynia again with his brother in 1214 to 1237. He was prince of Vladimir-in-Volynia alone from 1237 to 1269. He married about 1226 with Yelena-Dobrava, daughter of Yuri II Vsyevolodovich, grand prince of Vladimir. Then he married another Yelena, daughter of Leshka Beli and Gremislava Ingvaryevna, daughter of Ingvar Yaroslavich, prince of Lutsk. His son was Vladimir, prince of Yladimir-in-Volynia. His daughter was Ol'ga, who married Andrei Vsyevolodovich, prince of Chernigiv. They are shown in this family chart. Chronology:
