VASILII SEMYENOVICH (2nd half 14th - 1403)

 
   
 

He was a son of Semyon Dmitriyevich, appanage prince of Suzdal and Aleksandra. He became appanage prince Shuiski. His sons were Aleksandr Glazatii, Ivan Gorbatii, Boris, Roman, Andrei Lugvitsa, and Vasilii Grebenka-Shuiskii. Vasilii was one of the major opponents of Moscow as ruler of Pskov and Novgorod until 1477, but after Novgorod was taken by Ivan III he recognized the supreme power of the grand prince.
