History:
In the middle 15th century prince Fedor, second son of the Odoyevski udel
prince Yurii Romanovich, under the rule of Lithuania received to rule the town
of Vorotinsk and became its first udel prince. His son, Mikhail Feodorovich in
1484 left from Lithauania and subrodinated himself to Moscow. In 1493 Mikhail
began to serve Tsar Ivan III along with his brothers
Semyon and Dmitrii. The three became boyars of Moscow court. In 1534 the boyar
Ivan Vorotinskii, son of prince Mikhail Fedorovich was attainted by the boyar
government and his udel went to three sons, Vladimir, Mikhail andAleksandr. The
Boyar Vladimir Ivanovich died in 1556 with out issue: in 1562 Mikhail and
Aleksandr together with their wives and children were attainted and Ivan IV took for himself the Vorotinski udel. Later
Aleksandr was aquited but soon died. In 1566 Mikhail was acquited and again a
boyar rank. But in 1573 he was liquidated along with Nikita Romanovich
Odoyevski and the Vorotin udel was ended. The last of the Vorotinski princes
died in 1679.
