He was the son of Yaroslav Izyaslavich, appanage prince of Lutsk, and a daughter of Vladislav, Czech prince. He married about 1166 to Mal'frida, daughter of Yuri Yaroslavich, prince of Turov. They had a daughter. He is shown on this family chart.
