This is an enlargement of a section of the
topographic map showing more detail of Kam'yanets. The Smotrich is flowing from
the top of the map. The old city is in the oval around which the river flows.
The castle is at the left side of the narrowest part of the neck of land
between the two sections of the river, The new, high-level bridge crosses the
river to the right of the old city. The Polish suburb is in the neck of land
across the river and west and northwest of the old city. The Russian suburb is
across the river to the east and southeast of the old city. The main downtown
of the new city, with hotels, public buildings and train station is due east of
the old city.
