Ruins of Desert Cathay22 - Top of Darkot Pass, looking to north-west across Darkot Glacier towards Indus-Oxus watershed. Small specks of black on glacier below arrow indicate Surveyor's party. (that would be Ram Singh) - The Darkot is north-east of Mastuj, about central to the Wakhan corridor into which it leads from Pakistan. From it going south the path leads directly to Yasin. Stein was determined to see this pass as it was used by the famous Chinese general who invaded Gilgit.
