Serindia329 - Ruined fort and watch-tower on Mazar-tagh ridge seen from north-west - Bed of Khotan River and jungle belt on its right bank in distance below. This Tibetan fort is on the only high bluff next to the Khotan river, about half way through the Taklamakan. Its location indicates the extent of the Tibetan expansion into the Tarim basin.
