Detail of reconstructed wall showing iron reenforcing bars. The construction shows how the walls were made of outer courses of well laid brick with a concrete and rubble core. One only hopes that there will be sufficient funds to continue the restoration as well as continue the extensive archeological work that is uncovering the pre-Genoese past back to Byzantine times.
