View from road in center of Russian lines to east toward redoubt. This area was held by skirmishers -sharpshooters. The Alma River is just to the left. The main Russian units were standing on either side of the redoubt and further to the left of the photo where the road crossed the ridge line. The small white memorial at the left side of the redoubt is to the British fusiliers.
