INKERMAN BATTLE

Here we are standing on the north side of the Tchernia river at the base of the cliff on which the Kalimata fortress and monastery are located. Weare looking at the ridge line that was held by the British forces. Some Russians had to climb this ridge, but most of them came out of the city on the far right and advanced along the ridge.
