SEVASTOPOL - CRIMEA

This photo was taken from inside the Flagstaff bastion in order to show a line of ditch and counterscarp in the foreground. The British camps were on the far ridge where the white buildings and radio tower are now, but their zig-zag approach trenches were much closer.
