The author tests the real results when Modern Monetary Theory has been
practiced in the real world by examining several specific such efforts in Latin
American countries. The host of champions of MMT are prolific authors of
theoretical treatises but steadfastly refuse to provide emperical examples of
its success. Rather, they berate their critics with claims that any one who
does not see the 'light' of MMT simply does not understand it.
