Reviewer Comment:
The Wikipedia entry has excellent maps and illustrations. It discusses the chronology of the successive dominant hegemons. It lists an amazing 148 'states' polities that were noted at one time or another during this chaotic era. This almost constant struggle, involving various levels of warfare generated considerable literature, inbcluding the Five Classics, on statescraft, military strategy and policy.
