Prince Troyekurov's Palace, (1691-96) on
Georgevski street was built for the head of the main Streltsi Department
(prikaz) who was in charge for Peter I of the building of the Sukharev tower.
The house was built in contemporary traditional form. The master and mistress
lived in the western half and the children and servants lived in the eastern
half of the second floor. As a result of restorations in the 1980's the palace
was returned to its 17th century appearance. It is now part of the Government
