IZYASLAV VLADIMIROVICH (ca1078- d.1096)

He was the second son of Vladimir Vsyevolodovich (Monomakh). His mother was Vladimir's first wife, Gida, English princess (sister of Harold). He was prince of Murom from 1095. He was killed in battle by Oleg Svyatoslavich in 1096. Vladimir's letter to Oleg discussing this event is one of the moving epistles in medieval Russian. They are shown on this family chart.
