He was the son of Boris Vasil'kovich, appanage prince of Rostov and
Maria Yaroslavna, princess of Murom (daughter of Yaroslav
Svyatoslavich). He became appanage prince of Rostov 1286 to 1304-5. He is
shown on this family chart, and on
this one with his heirs. He married his first wife
who died in 1299, then the second in 1302, a Tatar Horde princess. His sons
from the first marriage were Aleksandr, appanage
prince of Uglich; and Vasilii, appanage prince of
Rostov. Some researchers think he had another son, Mikhail, born about 1287.
