VIEW FROM RAMPART

This is the view toward the Turkish barracks (13) and the deep ravine in which the river flows just beyond them. We are on the second defense line. (We are slightly above number 7 but just above the dark line showing the defense wall on the city plan. ) The remains of the lower, first line are visible in the walls and parts of individual homes. The dome of the Church of the Intercession is barely visible above the trees.
