ANDREI VSYEVOLODOVICH SHUTIKHA (? - 1361)

 
   
 

He was a son of Vsyevolod Yur'yevich, appanage prince of Taruusk. He became appanage prince of Meshchevsk. He married Yvpraksia. Their sons were Aleksandr, appanage prince of Baryatinsk; Fedor, Roman, Ivan, (who died without heirs), and Vasilii Slepii, prince of Meshchevsk. His daughters were Marfa, Aksin'a, and Avdot'a. They are shown on this family chart.
The Meshchevski udel capital was the town, Meshchevsk in the Kaluga region. It was divided out of the Tarrusski appanage in the second half of the 14th century and became the principality of Andrei Shutikh. It soon after began to be divided and part was taken for the Baryatinski udel (see Aleksandr's entry). In the first half of the 15th century the Meshchevski udel region was taken by Lithuania. In the middle of the 17th century under Tsar Aleksei Mikhailovich the family of the Meshchevski princes died out.
