He was a son of Aleksandr Ivanovich, grand prince of Tver, and a
daughter of Fedor Mikhailovich, appanage prince of
Molozh. He became grand prince of Tver 1425 - 1461. He married first Anastasia,
daughter of Andrei Dmitriyevich, appanage prince of
Mozaisk and second with Anastasia, daughter of Aleksandr Vasil'yevich Glazatii, prince without udel of
Shuisk. His daughter from the first marriage was Maria. His sons from the
second marriage were Mikhail,last grand prince of
Tver; and Aleksandr, crown prince of Tver. The
