He was the only son of Vasilii Romanovich, appanage prince of Belyev. He was appanage prince of Belyev between 1482 and 1493. In 1493 his udel was assigned by the peace treaty between Lithuania and Moscow to Ivan III, so the Belyev princes shifted their service to the new sovereign, the Moscow prince, Ivan III. His sons were Vasilii and Fedor, and his daughter was Yevpraksia. The family is shown on this chart.
