MIKHAIL ROSTISLAVICH (? - 1279)

He was a son of Rostislav Mstislavich, appanage prince of Smolensk. He became appanage prince of Smolensk from 1277 (on the death of his brother, Gleb) until his own death in 1279. There is no information on his family. He is shown on this family chart. When he died the throne of Smolensk passed to his brother, Fedor, who was by then already prince of Yaroslavl. It was not possible for Fedor to rule two separated principalities effectively.
