He was appanage prince of Drutsk around 1159.
He was prince at Polotsk before 1151 and again after 1160. His father was
Boris Vsyeslavich, prince of Drutsk. Rogvolod married
around 1143-4 with the daughter of Izyaslav II
Mstislavich, prince of Kyiv. Their sons were Gleb,
appanage prince of Drutsk; Boris, and Vsyeslav, prince of Drutsk. (According to
one researcher they may also have had a son, Rostislav. It is interesting that
he married one of Mstislav Vladimirovich's grand daughters, when his brother,
Bryacheslav had married one of Mstislav's daughters. Rogvolod was driven out of
Polotsk in 1151 by his cousin, Rostislav
Glebovich but managed to return in 1160. But in 1161 he was forced out again,
this time by the princes of Minsk, whereupon he returned to his appanage town,
Drutsk. The family is shown on this chart.
