He was the son of Svyatoslav II Yaroslavich, prince of Kyiv, and Oda.
He became prince of Novgorod in 1068-to 1069 as his
father's representative, but was already prince of Tmutorokan around 1064. He
and his brother claimed Chernigiv as patrimony on the death of Yaroslav. They
continued to fight. He was killed at Zavoloche in 1078 and burried in the
family church of the Redeemer in Chernigiv.The family were known as Ol'govichi
since Gleb had no children. The family members are shown on this
